Pensions Data Project: Using Data to Understand the UK’s Pension Landscape

On Thursday 09 October 2025, the Pensions Policy Institute hosted a launch on behalf of The Pensions Data Project (PDP) Board.
The Pensions Data Project (PDP) is a collaborative, cross-industry initiative designed to improve the evidence base on UK pension saving. Bringing together data from five leading master trusts, the project aims to build a more comprehensive understanding of how pension pots grow, consolidate and interact with wider labour market and policy developments. The Private Beta Phase represents a significant step forward — demonstrating the feasibility and value of combining real administrative data to support better policymaking, regulation and industry practice.
