Technical Report: Modelling of pension policy options June 2026

This Technical Report presents two separate analyses undertaken by the Pensions Policy Institute (PPI) for Pensions UK using the PPI's individual modelling framework. It explores how a range of potential automatic enrolment reforms could affect retirement outcomes for individuals under different earnings profiles, saving behaviours and policy scenarios.
The accompanying appendix provides a guide to modelling assumptions and samples of results. Together, the report and appendix offer an evidence base to support discussions on the future design of automatic enrolment and retirement saving policy.
