The Policy Challenge of Saving for Low Earners

Published on Wednesday 22 July 2026, The Pensions Policy Institute (PPI) launched the final report in this series which brings together the findings from the full research programme, exploring how automatic enrolment and wider UK pensions policy affect low earners throughout their working lives and into retirement, and highlighting the policy options that could improve later-life outcomes.

The From Payslip to Pension: Life Course Impacts on Retirement Saving Among Low Earners series has been funded by a grant from The Nuffield Foundation. The project will run until summer 2026 and consist of five individual outputs.
