PPI Case studies for the Runnymede Trust

The Government published proposals for reform of the state pension system in May 2006.

As part of a study into the impact that these reforms will have on individuals from Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) groups in the UK, the Runnymede Trust sponsored the Pensions Policy Institute to produce a series of case studies illustrating the potential impact of the reforms on the amount of state pension income received by individuals with characteristics similar to those seen in many BME households.

The case studies used in this report are not representative of any particular BME group, or of BME households as a whole. They illustrate some of the types of lifestyle and work patterns that exist in the BME community.
