Danielle Elliott

Danielle joined the Pensions Policy Institute (PPI) in February 2014 and currently serves as Head of External Relations. She brings over 10 years of experience in the charity sector, following a successful earlier career in recruitment where she progressed from Consultant to Regional Manager overseeing London and Kent.

Before joining the PPI, Danielle managed the London Region for a major professional body, where she developed a strong foundation in stakeholder engagement and organisational coordination.

As Head of External Relations, Danielle is responsible for leading on the Institute’s communications, marketing, and engagement strategy. Her work is central to enhancing the PPI’s visibility and influence across the pensions and later-life landscape. She shapes the PPI’s narrative, builds and maintains strategic relationships with policymakers, government officials, and other stakeholders, and ensures that the Institute’s research and insights are effectively disseminated. Danielle oversees the development of the PPI’s brand and digital presence, manages the delivery of high-quality events and publications, and ensures consistency and impact across all communications channels.

Working closely with the Director, Danielle supports the identification and exploration of alternative funding and revenue-generating opportunities, balancing these with broader objectives such as raising the PPI’s profile, expanding its reach, and laying the groundwork for future growth. She also plays a key role in fundraising and Supporter engagement, and contributes to income generation strategy.

Danielle manages the External Relations team and works closely with the External Relations Committee to ensure the Institute remains responsive and forward-looking through ongoing horizon scanning.

Danielle was instrumental in the development and successful launch of the PPI’s Knowledge Sharing Seminars: An Introduction to the UK Pensions System. These seminars have since become a core component of many organisations’ induction processes for new staff and continue to grow in popularity under her leadership. Danielle takes great pride in hosting the seminars and particularly enjoys making complex topics accessible and engaging for a wide range of participants across the industry.
