Briefing Note Number 129 - How do cost-of-living increases affect pensioners?

The Pensions Policy Institute (PPI) is today publishing Briefing Note Number 129 - How do cost-of-living increases affect pensioners? authored by Daniela Silcock, Head of Policy Research and Tim Pike, Head of Modelling. It explores the impact of changes in inflation on pensioner households.

Recent economic events have led to a particularly significant increase in the cost of living, especially in relation to housing and energy costs. These increases will hit older and single pensioners hardest, as they spend more on these goods than younger and single pensioners.
