The Pensions Policy Institute (PPI) is today publishing The abolition of Adult Dependency Increases for pensioners. This Briefing Note shows that the abolition of Adult Dependency Increases (ADIs) could see nearly 9,000 pensioner couples lose up to £70 per week, marking a significant loss for people who are already on a low retirement income. It examines the reasons for the abolition of ADIs, the potential financial impact upon those people whose claims ceased on April 6 2020 and the options available to them to maintain their standard of living if they lose out financially.
