The DC Future Book, in association with Columbia Threadneedle Investments, is an annual compendium (first published in 2015) that sets out available data available on the DC landscape alongside commentary, analysis and projections of future trends. As well as tracking changes and trends in DC data over time, each year we put a spotlight on an area of particular interest within the DC landscape.

This year’s report looks to the future of decumulation for today’s young DC savers just starting out on their pension saving journey, exploring questions such as:

How much is a young DC saver likely to accumulate over the course of working life?
How will their retirement differ from the experience of current retirees?
What support will they need to achieve adequate and sustainable outcomes in later life?

This forward-looking chapter presents the background to what we hope to be a lively and expansive discussion at this year’s launch event, covering topics from longevity to product innovation and much more.
